Medicare rebates are available depending on the service selected, and whether you have been referred to our clinic by your General Practitioner (GP) through a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP).
If you have been referred to us by a GP through a MHCP, you may be eligible for a Medicare rebate for up to 10 sessions per calendar year.
There’s no single sign that tells you when it’s time for therapy. Some people come in during a crisis, others simply want more support as they navigate everyday life. Both are valid reasons to start.
If you’ve been feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure how to move forward, therapy offers a space to slow down and work through it with someone trained to help.
If you’re still not sure, reach out through our contact form and tell us a bit about what’s going on. We can help you figure out if it’s the right fit, no commitment required.
We understand that sometimes, life happens. If you aren’t able to make it to your appointment, please let us know ASAP.
50% of the usual session fee applies where notice of cancellations is less than 1 business day (i.e. the notice period excludes weekends & public holidays).
Cancellation fees are charged as this time has been set aside for you and usually cannot be filled at short notice. To avoid these fees, contact us to reschedule or cancel your appointment, providing as much notice as possible.
Cancellation fees are not charged should a cancelled appointment be filled.
Every therapist has their own way of running a first session, and what it looks like can also depend on the type of session, whether that’s individual, couples, workplace mediation, or post-separation parenting.
At its core, the first session is really about Kira getting to know you and what’s brought you to therapy. It might feel more structured, or it might unfold like a natural conversation. Either way, expect to share a bit about your current concerns, your history, your relationships, your strengths, and what you’re hoping to work towards.
Above all, this session is where the connection starts. You should come away feeling safe, respected, and reasonably at ease. Take this first meeting as a chance to see whether Kira feels like the right fit for you.
